THE Governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris, has ordered the immediate suspension of the Commissioner for Health, Yunusa Musa Ismail, over alleged dereliction of duty.

The decision, announced in a statement by the governor’s media aide, Yahayya Sarki, yesterday, followed a directive requesting the commissioner to explain accusations of negligence and failure to properly discharge his responsibilities.

The suspension will remain in force until further notice.

Governor Idris stressed that his administration is committed to accountability, discipline, and effective service delivery, noting that public officials must earn and maintain public confidence.

Although the official statement did not cite a direct link, the move is believed to be connected to mounting criticism of the state’s health sector by social media influencers.

The influencers were briefly arrested by government operatives after raising concerns online but were later released amid widespread public backlash.
