One of the two doctors kidnapped in Auchi, Edo State, Dr. Emhoye, who is the younger one of the two, has reportedly been killed.

Dockaysworld gathered that his body was discovered discarded by the riverside while his elder brother remains in captivity.

The killing occurred despite an earlier ransom demand of N200 million made by the abductors for the release of the two brothers.

Negotiations were said to be ongoing before the younger doctor was killed.

The death has come as a shock to the community, with many describing the act as despicable and calling on the government to urgently rescue the remaining doctor, amid fears that ransom payment may not guarantee his freedom.

Recall that the brothers were abducted on January 1, 2026, along City Pride Road in the Igbira Camp area of Auchi.

The victims were identified as Dr. Abu Ibrahim Babatunde, a medical doctor undergoing housemanship at the Edo State Teaching Hospital, Auchi, and his younger brother.

Eyewitnesses said the doctor was attacked while attempting to open the gate to his home after returning from work, after which the gunmen also seized his brother and took both into a nearby bush.

The Edo State Police Command had confirmed the abduction and deployed operatives, vigilantes and forest guards to rescue the victims.
