Kerrion Franklin, the son of gospel music legend Kirk Franklin, has publicly accused his parents of years of physical abuse in a graphic social media post.
The reality star shared a photo of scarring on his back, alleging the marks were the result of years of “being beat black and blue” by his parents.
“These scars all over my back are not Sex Stories,” Kerrion wrote in the caption, adding that the painful memories continue to haunt him. “breaks my heart all over again when ppl ask cuz iii wish that was the case. Pain is the only feeling that’s familiar for me but Whatevs & For the record these scars are symbols they really signs of many secrets that iii keep bottled up since iii was a baby being beat black and blue since 1st grade. I walk with war & Betrayal in my posture so F–k around n find out who’s wit the shts forever.”
He continued, describing the abuse as a recurring part of his upbringing: “parentals enjoyed expressing rotten Rage in many ways as (punishment/Consequence) not that anyone cares about compassion consideration These scars are the only memories iii have of my childhood.”
This is not the first time Kerrion has made allegations against his parents. In 2021, he leaked multiple audio recordings of heated arguments with his father. At the time, Kirk Franklin denied any physical abuse, saying there had “never been anything physical that concerns him.”
In 2023, the Grammy-winning artist reflected on the fallout from the recordings, admitting that it caused deep emotional pain.
“It traumatizes me to this day. It is very difficult, and my wife [Tammy] will tell you. That tape was a reflection of years of what our family dynamic has been going through, just so you know. You don’t have that type of anger out there without there being a history of something.”
