WATCH THE VIDEO HERE ARMED robbers yesterday targeted a road safety officer named Abu as he was returning home from a bank in Zango, Lokoja, Kogi State. The robbers stole an undisclosed amount of money from Abu after shooting at him multiple times. A witness reported that the assailants followed Abu, who was on a motorcycle, from the bank to Lokongoma Phase One near the Lokongoma market. They confronted him, leading to a struggle over the money. During the scuffle, Abu was shot three times in his legs and shoulder. The state police confirmed the incident, stating that they recovered N139,000 from the scene. Abu was quickly taken to the hospital for treatment. The police public relations officer, SP William Aya, stated that officers responded to a distress call at Lokongoma Phase One and found Abu injured from the gunshot wounds. He explained that Abu was waylaid by the robbers in an Ash-colored Toyota Camry in front of Lokongoma market and robbed of an unspecified amount of money. The police commissioner, Bertrand Onuoha, dispatched officers to ensure public safety, apprehend the robbers, and bring them to justice.
