No fewer than 1,911,141 Nigerians have reportedly applied for the 2025 recruitment exercise of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), figures from the board’s website have shown.

Naijaonpoint reports that the exercise, which was initially scheduled to commence on June 26, suffered several delays due to technical challenges. It was first moved to July 14, then rescheduled again to July 21.

Recall that the portal crashes and repeated temporary suspensions marred the process, forcing the board to extend the initial closing date from August 4 to Monday, August 11.

Kogi, Kaduna, Benue Lead In Applications

Data from the CDCFIB portal revealed that Kogi (116,162), Kaduna (114,536), and Benue (110,565) topped the list of applications.

They were closely followed by Kano and Niger, with the five states collectively accounting for 510,174 applications.

At the lower end, Bayelsa (11,669), Lagos (14,216), Rivers (22,210), Ebonyi (23,601), and Delta (27,962) together submitted 99,658 applications.

In a post on its official 𝕏 handle on Monday, the CDCFIB thanked Nigerians for their interest in serving in the paramilitary agencies and outlined the next phase of the process.

“Recruitment Applications Closed! The official recruitment portal for the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board is now closed. We thank all applicants for their interest and commitment to serving with honour, integrity, and national pride.

“Next Step! Shortlisted candidates will be contacted shortly with further instructions. Please monitor your email and text messages over the coming weeks for notifications. We also encourage you to regularly check the portal and social media handles for important updates,” the board stated.

Applicants have been advised to remain alert for emails, text messages, and updates from the CDCFIB portal in the coming weeks.
