Speaking on behalf of the Kogi caucus, Senator Isah Jubril (APC, Kogi East) acknowledged that the Senate acted within its authority and described the reaction as unnecessary. He apologized and assured his colleagues that such an incident would not happen again. Senator Sunday Karimi (APC, Kogi West), citing Order 14 of the Senate Standing Rules, affirmed that the Senate President has the power to reassign seats without prior notice. Karimi stated that as Chairman of the Senate Services Committee, he had advised affected senators to remain patient, but Senator Natasha Uduaghan resorted to shouting at him during plenary. He described her actions as inappropriate for a legislative assembly and urged her to apologize for her conduct. In response, Senate President Godswill Akpabio urged senators to remain focused on their legislative duties, assuring them that the issue would be addressed appropriately.
