Ksoo Sentenced To Life In Prison For First-Degree Murder

Ksoo Father

Rapper Ksoo, who was charged in the 2020 murder of a fellow local rapper, has been sentenced to life in prison.

Before Ksoo, real name born Hakeem Robinson, and his cousin, Leroy Whitaker Jr. were sentenced, Yolanda Perkins, the mother of the victim Charles McCormick Jr., asked that a statement be read to the court by her attorney on her behalf.

“In 1996, a bright light entered the world,” the statement reads in part. “People remember him not for his struggles but for his kindness and the way he lifted others up […] His loss has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him. His life was taken unjustly, and the ripple effect of the act that has changed forever changed this family, friends and community.”

Ksoo’s case shocked the rap game after his father, Abdul Robinson Sr., also known as “Blue,” testified against him in court to save himself.

Robinson Sr. was accused of helping his son and nephew escape after the shooting.

“I got some health issues,” he told the court when asked why he turned against his son. “I got two 6-year-olds and an 8-year-old daughter,” adding tha he wants to take his daughter to the daddy-daughter dance, but he keeps “letting her down.”

“I just found out June 25 that my kidneys is failing rapidly,” he went on.
