WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Kyocera, a renowned rugged smartphone brand, announced the ultra-rugged DuraForce PRO 3 smartphone in July last year. Since then, the company has run multiple sales campaigns for the device. Now, Kyocera has announced that the DuraForce PRO 3 smartphone is now available in Verizon retail stores across the US. The Kyocera DuraForce PRO 3 sports a 5.38-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Not only the is display shatter-proof and scratch-resistant, but it is also usable with wet hands and while using gloves making it a handy option for police, fire, emergency crews, and other first responders. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset powers this ultra-rugged smartphone and boots Android 14 out of the box. The device comes with a horizontal triple-rear camera setup. You’ll find a 64MP main camera paired with 16MP wide-angle and 2MP macro shooters. There’s also an 8MP front-facing camera on this rugged smartphone. You’ll also find a dual-LED flash at the back. Kyocera has added scratch and shatter-resistant glass to protect these camera lenses. On top of that, these cameras are capable of underwater photo and video shooting. What’s more interesting is that the camera also allows you to capture super night vision shots. So, you don’t need to worry if you’re taking pictures in an extremely dark environment. The front-facing stereo speakers are loud enough allowing you to hear conversations in almost any environment. This rugged smartphone comes with a removable and replaceable 4270mAh battery with a side lock for accidental battery displacement. When it comes to charging, it supports up to 27W wired and 8.1W wireless charging. Unfortunately, you don’t get a charger in the box, which might make people consider picking up a Ulefone rugged smartphone instead. The device is available in a single variant featuring 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of internal storage. However, you have the option to expand the storage by up to 1TB using a microSDXC card. The DuraForce PRO 3 also supports Verizon One Talk2 to seamlessly manage business and personal phone lines on a single device. It further supports Enterprise Push-To-Talk (PTT) and PTT+ when paired with eligible accessories. The Kyocera DuraForce PRO 3 offers a standby time of up to 288 hours and up to 27 – 31 hours on 5G usage. The device further boasts MIL-STD-810H and IP68 rating to offer protection from drops, shock, extreme temperatures, dust, and water submersion. What’s best is that it can withstand drops of up to five feet on concrete surfaces. Unlike traditional Android smartphones, the DuraForce PRO 3 comes with an X-frame reinforced structure with a non-slip texture and corner bumpers for additional protection. Kyocera has designed the DuraForce PRO 3 for first responders, businesses, and construction/warehouse house workers. While brands like Samsung are developing multiple rugged devices, the DuraForce PRO 3 is already serving those working in harsh environments. The company is even offering the device for free to eligible government customers. It has also priced the smartphone as low as 99 cents for eligible business customers. However, Verizon requires a one-time payment and a 2-year service agreement from business customers to take advantage of this offer. If you’re not an eligible customer, you can still grab this rugged smartphone for $899.99 from the Verizon store. The Kyocera DuraForce PRO 3 is now available in Verizon retail stores
