The entire Labour Party (LP) structure in Ogbadibo Local Government Area, Benue State, has been officially dissolved and integrated into the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The development was announced during an expanded stakeholders’ meeting on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
The decision was reportedly reached after weeks of consultations and reflection on the current state of national affairs.
According to Daily Post, a communique issued after the meeting stated that the mass defection was a “bold and strategic decision” motivated by a shared determination to salvage Nigeria from the persistent hardship and failed governance under the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led federal administration.
“The decision to collapse the Labour Party structure into the ADC in Ogbadibo LGA is a result of deep reflection and collective willpower. We believe the ADC offers a more people-oriented, transparent, and progressive political alternative,” a stakeholder said.
The meeting, which included former LP ward executives, youth leaders, women coordinators, and community mobilizers from across the local government, ended with a declaration of total loyalty to the African Democratic Congress moving forward.
Commenting on the development, Agada Onu, the Hon. Domfrank Ochigbo’s Director of New Media and Strategic Communication, confirmed the merger and emphasised its significance.
“This bold and strategic decision stems from the collective resolve to rescue Nigeria from the failed leadership and widespread hardship caused by the APC-led administration,” said Onu.
He added that the move aims to build a stronger political base that prioritises the needs of the people and advances true democratic values at both the local and national levels.
