Lagos APC Predicts Landslide Victory In Local Council Polls

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State says it is confident of sweeping all chairmanship and councillorship seats in Saturday’s local government elections.

Speaking with journalists in Agege, the party’s spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, said the APC’s track record at various levels of government had solidified its position as the people’s preferred choice.

“There is no doubt around the APC victory, but it is how massive the voting is, which is because this local government election is a preparation for the 2027 election,” Oladejo stated.

The APC is contesting across all 57 local government areas and local council development areas in Lagos State. According to Oladejo, the party’s consistent delivery of services has earned it the public’s trust.

“Aside from this, there is no alternative to APC in Lagos based on our performance at various levels, the local governments, states, and federal government,” he added.

Despite a peaceful atmosphere at many polling units, Oladejo acknowledged a less-than-ideal turnout, noting that more voters were still expected to arrive.

He urged eligible voters not to sit on the sidelines: “The conversation now is around how our people will come out to vote. I also need to put it on record that the exercise started a little bit late. When this happens, there should be an extension of voting time so that we will not deny the people who are supposed to vote.”

Oladejo described the election as a test run for 2027, calling on APC supporters to seize the opportunity to reaffirm their loyalty at the grassroots level.
