Nigerian social media influencer, Ayomiposi Oluwadahunsi, popularly known as Mandy Kiss, has been appointed as a brand ambassador for Lagos State’s campaign against drug and substance abuse.
Naijaonpoint reports that the announcement was made during an event organized by the Lagos State Kick Against Drug and Substance Abuse Agency (LASKADA).
The Lagos Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende, officially conferred the ambassadorship on Mandy Kiss, saying that her large online following could help spread the anti-drug message across the state.
He encouraged citizens to join the fight against substance misuse, saying the government cannot tackle the problem alone and requires collaboration with individuals who can reach many people.
The appointment comes after Mandy Kiss gained public attention earlier this month for a viral social media post announcing plans to attempt a Guinness World Record by engaging in sexual activity with 100 men in a single day.
The proposed record attempt, scheduled for September 30 in Ikorodu, Lagos, was widely criticized, and the Guinness World Records clarified that it does not recognize or monitor sexual activity as a record category.
Mandy Kiss later said the announcement was meant as a joke.
During the event, the commissioner expressed hope that Mandy Kiss could use her influence to reach communities throughout Lagos and support the campaign against drugs.
While details of her duties were not disclosed, LASKADA leads efforts in public education, community engagement, policy guidance, and research to reduce drug and substance abuse in the state.
