Jamb Registration and Exam Dates

According to JAMB, registration for the 2025 UTME will begin on January 31 and end on March 5. The main exam is scheduled to start on March 8, 2025, with a mock exam planned for February 23, 2025. Candidates interested in the mock exam can opt in during registration.

How to Register for Jamb 2025

To register, candidates must meet specific requirements, including having a National Identification Number (NIN). Here’s how the process works:

1. Generate a Profile Code:
   • Send your NIN via SMS to 55019 or 66019.
   • A profile code, which is needed for registration, will be sent back.
2. Registration Fees:
   • UTME with Mock Exam: ₦8,200.
   • UTME without Mock Exam: ₦7,200.
   • Direct Entry (DE): ₦5,700.

NIMC’s Message to Parents About JAMB 2025 Registration: What You Need to Know

Naijaonpoint Media reports that the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has shared an important update for parents and guardians of students under 16 or just turning 16. If your child plans to take the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), there’s a step you need to take to ensure their registration process goes smoothly.

According to NIMC, students under 16 will not be able to generate their JAMB profile code online. Instead, parents or guardians must take these students to the nearest NIMC enrollment center to update their National Identity Number (NIN) records. Without this update, generating the JAMB profile code—a requirement for registration—will not be possible.

Here’s what NIMC said:

“Attention parents/guardians: Is your child/ward under or just turned 16 on their NIN record? They won’t be able to generate their JAMB profile code. Take them to the nearest NIMC Enrolment Centre for a quick ‘Migration’ update. Ensure their dreams of higher education aren’t delayed.”

1. National Identification Number (NIN):
   • All candidates must obtain their NIN as it is mandatory for registration.

The Lekki Headmaster: 2025 JAMB Novel for Use of English

JAMB has selected The Lekki Headmaster by Kabir Alabi Garba as the approved reading text for the 2025 UTME Use of English. This announcement was made via JAMB’s official X (formerly Twitter) account earlier this month.

Mock Examination for 2025 UTME

JAMB has scheduled the mock examination for February 23, 2025. The mock exam is optional but highly recommended for candidates who wish to familiarize themselves with the Computer-Based Test (CBT) format.

Additionally, JAMB has introduced a trial-testing mock examination specifically for candidates below the age of 16 who do not meet the age requirement for admission. This initiative allows underage candidates to gain experience with the CBT system without seeking admission into tertiary institutions.

The mock examination fees are as follows:

• ₦8,200 for candidates writing the UTME and mock exam.
• ₦5,700 for underage candidates registering for the trial-testing mock only.

Age Policy and Requirements

JAMB has reiterated its age policy for candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions. Candidates must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2025, to be eligible for admission.

However, gifted candidates under the age of 16 can qualify if they meet the following criteria:

• Score at least 280 in the UTME.
• Perform exceptionally in their Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) and post-UTME assessments.

This age policy aligns with JAMB’s commitment to maintaining academic standards and ensuring readiness for tertiary education.

Increased Number of CBT Centres for 2025
