According to a statement released by JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the decision follows the suspension of law programmes in these institutions by the Council of Legal Education (CLE), the top regulatory body for legal education in Nigeria. The universities affected by this suspension include: JAMB clarified that it will not process any admissions for law candidates into these universities for the 2025/2026 academic session. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued detailed instructions for generating a profile code in preparation for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration. The Board shared the guidelines via its official X (formerly Twitter) account on January 15, 2025, emphasizing the importance of accurate and secure procedures. To generate a profile code, candidates must first obtain their National Identification Number (NIN) from the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). Using a retrievable phone number that has not been previously registered on JAMB’s platform, candidates should send a text message in the following format: For example: NIN 23456789012 sent to 55019 or 66019.
