FG Launches BETA Cash Transfers

The Federal Government has resumed payment under the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer (RRR/CCT) programme, bringing relief to millions of poor and vulnerable households across Nigeria.

This update comes shortly after a meeting between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, where both stressed the urgent need to strengthen Nigeria’s social safety nets. According to her, as the government pushes forward with tough but necessary economic reforms, it is crucial to create protection for those who would otherwise bear the hardest impact.

What is CCT?

The Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) is a federal government initiative that provides direct financial support to poor and low-income households. Beneficiaries receive cash assistance with simple conditions such as:

This approach not only addresses immediate survival needs but also promotes long-term investment in education, health, and family well-being.

Payment Details for 2025

  • Each eligible household will receive ₦25,000 per payment

  • Payments will be made three times (₦75,000 in total)

  • Over 2.1 million households are expected to benefit in this current phase

The CCT/RRR payment is part of the government’s wider effort to reduce poverty, cushion the effects of rising living costs, and ensure vulnerable Nigerians are not left behind.
