Alhaji Mukhtar Lugga, the Chief of Staff to Gov. Dauda Lawal of Zamfara has said that the present administration in the state has recorded tremendous achievements in the two years.
Lugga who is the Chairman, second year anniversary ceremony of Lawal, stated this while speaking to journalists in Gusau on Thursday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Lawal has embarked on projects inauguration as part of the second year anniversary of his administration.
Part of the projects inaugurated were renovated Farida General Gusau, Anka GeLugga said Lawal had executed various capital projects that the state has been lacking since its creation.
According to him, the construction of Gusau International Airport is one of the great achievements of Lawal just within two years in office.
He stated that Zamfara has been lacking airport facility since its creation, adding,” but I am assuring you in the next few months, Gusau International Airport project would be completed.
“I believe the airport project would enhance economic activities of the state, especially by attracting more investors to the state as well as export trades opportunities.”
According to him, another area that Lawal had recorded great achievements was tje clearing of over N10 billion arrears of gratuities and pensions of retired civil servants in the state.
“I think, when Gov Lawal came to office in 29 May, 2023, he met a backlog of over N10 billion arrears of gratuities and pensions for retired local government and state civil servants.
“Today , I am happy to say this administration had paid almost 99 per cent of all the retired workers that have not been paid since 2011 to date.
“Previous governments in the state failed to pay examination bodies including the National Examination Council (NECO) and the West African Examination Council (WAEC) from 2014 to 2022.
“Today, this administration had paid all the outstanding debts of examination fees, which led to release of five-year outstanding SSCE results of Zamfara indigenes.
“The rescue mission agenda of Gov. Dauda Lawal executed multi- billion Naira infrastructural development projects cutting across education, health and roads networks,” Lugga added.
He stated that both primary, secondary and tertiary schools across the state were renovated to a standard for the future education of the children.
“Our hospitals across the state were upgraded to a standard to bolster the delivery of healthcare services to the people of the state.
“Today, the urban renewal policy of this administration has turned Gusau, the state capital as one of the best state capitals in the country.
“Various high standard roads projects and bridges were executed within just two years,” the chief of staff explained.
Lugga urged thebcitizens of Zamfara to praise Lawal for initiating various plausible policies and programmes for the development of the state.
He said Lawal’s policy of anti-thuggery and redundancy among the youths had changed the mindsets of Zamfara youths to a future thinking status.
Lugga therefore, called on the people of the state to continue to support Lawal to move Zamfara to greater heights. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
