Nollywood actress Mosun Filani has responded to a fan who berated her over her role in her colleague, Wumi Toriola’s new movie, Konge 3.
The female fan said she used to be a fan of the actress until she watched her role in Konge, and now she has a different perspective about her.
“I really like you, but from the day I watched Konge, I have a different perspective about you”.
Responding to the fan, Mosun noted that she was only doing her job as an actress. She pointed out the irony of being dragged if she hadn’t acted her role well.
“Haaaa. Na movie o, if I no act well, na una go complain. I did a good job, now una don dey hate me”.
Further sharing it on her Instagram page, Mosun made it known that her role was scripted and she only got into character and delivered perfectly for everyone’s enjoyment.
She emphasised that her character in the movie isn’t her personality in real life, noting that she has had her own share of friendship and even family betrayal. Mosun urged the fan and others to learn, move on, and stop hating on actors.
“Kilo sele gangan.
It’s a MOVIE!!!
I got the script.
Got into character and delivered perfectly for y’all enjoyment.
That’s why it’s called MAKE BELIEVE!!!
NOTE: That’s not me. That’s not my personality in real life.
I have had my own share of friendship and even family betrayal, too.
Watch the movie… Learn and move on…. Don’t hate on the actors”.
Kemi Filani reported in 2023 that Mosun announced she was back in the movie industry after years of being off-screen. Urging script writers producers and directors to send scripts, she noted how there is time and season for everything.
In an interview last year, Mosun had opened up on why she took a break from the movie industry. She disclosed that she prioritized her kids above her career, hence, her break from the industry. She made it known that business was never a priority to her.
Refreshing your memory, Mosun quit acting after she married her husband, Kayode Oduoye, a politician and son of late Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Simeon Oduoye. Her husband’s political ambition fueled her decision to quit acting as she was required to project a certain lifestyle and acting wasn’t part of it. Unfortunately, he didn’t win any poll, so she concentrated on her beauty business and caring for her family.
