The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has once again called upon stakeholders, particularly the citizens of Osun State, to disregard any forms of distractions stemming from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The party emphasized that the beleaguered opposition is unlikely to improve its standing and will instead resort to emotional provocations.

In a statement made available to Naijaonpoint on Tuesday, January 14, the state PDP Chairman, Sunday Bisi, expressed these sentiments while addressing the discontent displayed by the APC following the recent dismissal of their lawsuit by the appeal court.

This lawsuit challenged the annulment of the previously conducted local government elections, which were characterized by the controversial ‘job for the boys’ approach during the tenure of the defeated APC government under Gboyega Oyetola.

Highlighting the significance of the year 2025 in furthering the advancements achieved under Governor Ademola Adeleke‘s administration, Bisi urged the public to allow the APC to grapple with its own issues and to remain focused on the ongoing progress rather than permitting the struggling opposition to hinder the state’s development.

According to the leader of the Osun PDP, the APC has consistently demonstrated a lack of integrity, failing to confront the truth in both political contests, where they face undeniable defeats, and in legal matters, where their chances are slim.

He asserted that such individuals do not merit serious consideration from those committed to the renewed mission of revitalizing the state after the detrimental effects of their previous governance marked by financial misconduct.

“We want to assure the people of the state that the local government election the APC is desperately plotting to stop will hold”. It will hold because having elected representatives of the people at that tier of government will, in no small measure, complement the fantastic efforts of the people’s Governor, Asiwaju Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke.

“We also assure that the democratic local government administration in the state will be a 360° departure from the conduit pipes of corruption with which APC administered the local governments.

“It is our belief that whoever wins in the forthcoming local government election will be adequately compelled to act on the side of the people as against the rudderlessness of the angry opposition,” the statement added.

Bisi stressed that the citizens of Osun State should recognize that Governor Adeleke represents a distinct type of political leader.

According to him, since taking office, the Governor has moved away from the typical party politics characterized by the neglect of projects.

Instead, he has prioritized the continuity and completion of initiatives that were left unfinished due to unnecessary conflicts between Mr. Oyetola and his predecessor.

Furthermore, the Governor, he said, has ensured that the same contractors who were engaged in these projects prior to his administration are retained to see them through, all for the greater good of the state.

Such a Governor serves as a model for the incoming local government administration. Consequently, the public should dismiss the misleading narratives propagated by APC media as mere distractions and an insidious attempt to undermine the political integrity of the community.

“We are also not unaware of other barrage of lawsuits, pending and those being contemplated by the APC to stop the local government election but we assure they will fail as they have always failed,” the PDP chieftain stressed.
