LEGO has revealed a pricey set based on The Goonies, sporting a massive piece count as it recreates an iconic part of the 1985 adventure comedy movie. The movie is considered one of the best in its genre, while also acting as a launchpad for a number of well-known actors, such as Josh Brolin and Sean Astin.
The movie has stood the test of time; in 2017, it was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the US National Film Registry. It’s become a cult classic since its release, becoming an influential adventure film for a number of projects. One recent influence was the story of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. Now, the movie is getting the LEGO treatment.
According to a new listing from LEGO, The Goonies is getting a set based on the film’s iconic ship. The set will be 2912 pieces while sporting a price tag of $329.99. According to an official listing on LEGO’s website, the exclusive set will arrive on November 4, 2025. Check out an official image of the set below:
LEGO Insiders will have early access to purchase the set on November 1. As depicted in the above image, the set includes plenty of familiar areas from The Goonies‘ story. This includes Fratellis’ hideaway and One-Eyed Willy’s treasure area. There are plenty of references to the whole film in the set too, emphasizing how much it honors the entire movie.
The LEGO set comes at the same time that Warner Bros. is developing The Goonies 2, a direct sequel to the classic adventure movie. The project was first announced in February 2025. Original story writer Steven Spielberg and screenplay writer Chris Columbus are attached as producers, while director Potsy Ponciroli (Old Henry, Motor City) is attached to direct.
While there hasn’t been any concrete news about the sequel, the LEGO set emphasized how the story and cast of The Goonies have maintained a place in the pop culture zeitgeist for decades. Even 40 years later, the film has maintained its popularity, as proven by the set coming from LEGO’s Ideas program, which pulls from fan-submitted product designs.
This LEGO set adds another classic under the company’s belt, giving The Goonies new life in the form of a buildable environment. Given the film’s historical importance and the fact there’s a sequel in the works, it makes sense for more attention to be drawn to it. The set will aid in this, while also providing a nostalgic, fan-focused product.
