At the Lenovo Tech World 2024 event in Bellevue, company chairman and CEO Yuanqing Yang claimed “Hybrid AI” will be the future of computing. He observed that computing solutions for personal and business use would need the power of AI, and the company is working towards a “powerful, intelligent AI future.”
Lenovo CEO states ‘Smart AI for All’ is the company’s vision and goal
Lenovo is currently hosting its annual global innovation event, Tech World, in Bellevue, Washington. This is the event’s 10th consecutive year.
At this year’s Tech World event, Lenovo reportedly reflected on a decade of innovation, and transformation of the company. This year’s event was about Lenovo’s vision for the future, and particularly about how Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) will play a key role.
Lenovo’s CEO Yuanqing Yang has confirmed that Lenovo has been working on “Hybrid AI”. This idea will be visible in the end-to-end solutions fueling the company’s mission of Smarter AI for All.
Yang assured AI is not a passing trend, but instead, it is here to stay. AI will help in nearly every aspect of computing, he proclaimed.
“We use the power of AI to preserve the most cherished experiences. It’s all about using AI to build a smarter future, together, for all. Lenovo believes AI is real, it’s not a fleeting trend, it’s not an inflated bubble.”
What is Lenovo Hybrid AI?
Nearly every company has attempted to create a customized Gen Ai solution. While Microsoft has Open AI’s ChatGPT, Google has Gemini, and Apple has Apple Intelligence.
Unlike Microsoft and Google, Lenovo is primarily a company that manufactures, sells, and maintains hardware and computing solutions. According to Lenovo’s CEO, Hybrid AI is the company’s vision. Accordingly, the company will move forward with AI at the core of the design philosophy driving Lenovo.
The Hybrid AI vision essentially seeks to have harmony between enterprise foundation models and the private cloud. Together these platforms would work synergistically with a public foundation model and public cloud, added Yang. These models would complement each other to deliver “enhanced outcomes for different customer needs”, Yang declared.
What Yang may have indicated is how Lenovo would keep AI as the top priority while designing hardware and software, as well as enterprise solutions. It seems Lenovo’s Hybrid AI intends to empower both individuals and enterprises, which would include large and small organizations.
