“Let’s celebrate responsibly and avoid fines” – E-Money tells Nigerian as he kicks against Naira abuse, days after arrest

Nigerian businessman Emeka Okonkwo, better known as E-Money, has preached against the abuse of the Naira.

Taking to his Instagram page, he stated that spraying of naira at parties and events is against the law as he admonished Nigerians to celebrate responsibly, avoid fines.m and respect our currency.

He told those who love to spend money at parties to make sure they put it in a basket, bowl, or container in front of the person at the party. He added that ignorance isn’t going to be an excuse anymore.

“Attention! The EFCC reminds us that spraying Naira (or any currency) at parties or events is against the law! Let’s celebrate responsibly and avoid fines. Respect our currency!
If you must give money at a party, make sure you put it in a basket, bowl, or box in front of the person at the party. Don’t drop any currency on the floor. The EFCC advises this. Ignorance is not going to be an excuse. Let us be aware and abide by the rules since it’s the law of the land”.

Kemi Filani reported early this week that E-Money was arrested by the commission for allegedly spraying United States dollars at an event, an act said to be a violation of the Foreign Exchange Act.

Reacting to his arrest, Cubana Chief Priest showed support for him as he noted how he had been there and assured E-Money that he would be stronger, just like their Rolls Royce. He stated that he knew they would come for him because of his strength and were trying to break him to make him succumb to supporting them under duress.

Also, showing support for E-Money, Okon Lagos questioned what would be wrong if E-Money abused the dollar on Nigerian soil. He noted how the dollar abuses the Naira every day, as he urged the commission to prioritise incarcerating bad, and corrupt leaders who ruin the economy.
