LiAngelo Ball is opening up about why his marriage to Rashida Nicole fell apart almost as quickly as it began.
On the Ball in the Family podcast, he said the wedding happened after she pushed the idea during what he called “two terrible weeks,” a period when he “couldn’t think forreal.” According to him, Rashida handled the planning while he just moved along with it.
“She drove me out to the courthouse. I was [about] to cry in the whip,” he said. “I’m telling her I don’t want to get married. I don’t want to do none of this s–t but then I was like I’m doing it. And I did not understand until I sat down one day and my eyes started leaking.”
Gelo said things went south fast. He admitted he made some “dumb a– decisions” but also suggested Rashida “might’ve been on some ill s–t.” Eventually, he told her she had to leave. “I just took all the Ls on the chin. To be honest, I don’t like her a–,” he said, adding she was “lying” without specifying how.
He contrasted her with MissNikkiiBaby, saying their issues were normal and fixable. “Mainly ’cause the kids…I would’ve stayed home. I’d talk it out with Nikki.”
Rashida publicly defended him earlier this year, showed off a tattoo of his name, and later announced her pregnancy. On July 3, Ball filed for divorce, listing their separation as June 15.
