Victor Osimhen just completed his transfer to Turkish Super Lig club Galatasaray, and another Super Eagles star is set to tow his path
Super Eagles striker Henry Onyekuru has completed his transfer to newly-promoted Turkish Super Lig club Genclerbirligi, Soccernet.ng reports.
Onyekuru’s future has been the subject of many transfer speculations this summer, as he has been linked with different Super Lig clubs.
The 28-year-old marksman has been linked to clubs like Besiktas, Fenerbahce, and Alanyaspor, but nothing came out of it.
However, news broke earlier on the week that Genclerbirligi had opened talks with him. Both parties have now agreed, as Buchi Laba reports that Onyekuru is on his way to Turkey to have his medical and sign for Genclerbirligi.

Onyekuru’s transfer comes just as Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen’s transfer from Napoli and Galatasaray was confirmed in principle.
Meanwhile, Onyekuru will join another Super Eagles star Peter Etebo at Genclerbirligi, who is believed to have played an important role in the transfer.
Genclerbirligi just gained promotion to the Super Lig after finishing second in the Turkish 1. Lig last season.
Their main target would be to stay alive in the top-flight and probably finish in the top half of the table.
The club will be banking on Onyekuru to deliver plenty of goals to aid their quest, as he has a lot of experience playing in Turkey.

Onyekuru played for Galatasaray and Adana Demirspor previously. He has one goal for the Super Eagles in 15 appearances.

Henry Onyekuru is joining Genclerbirligi in a free transfer, as his contract with his former club Al Feyha expired at the end of last season.

He will sign a one-year contract with the option of an additional year. Although the situation that will trigger that clause has not been revealed, it is expected that the clause will hinge on Genclerbirligi remaining in the Turkish top-flight.
Onyekuru’s salary and other details about the deal have not been confirmed yet. But all those should be revealed once the club unveils him.
