WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Durk Banks Sr., the father of jailed rapper Lil Durk, is speaking out following his son’s arrest in connection with an alleged murder-for-hire plot. “I’ll leave all legal issues to the lawyers [but] as far as the family, as far as me as a father, the only thing I can say is that it’s mighty strange that once he start doing good out there, once he stayed away from all the gang banging and dissing the dead and doing things out there in the street when he turned his life around,” his father said in a video obtained by DJ Akademiks. When he on his deen now practicing religion, doing things for the community, bringing about peace in Chicago and throughout various cities, all of a sudden now he’s being indicted,” he added. Durk attended a Muslim conference in Chicago just days before his arrest, which his father finds suspicious. “Their whole thing is if you’re doing wrong, you’re doing bad, then that’s good for them because that fills up the prison. But when you start doing right and tell people to stop doing wrong, then all of a sudden you an enemy to them and they have to lock you up,” he continued. The Grammy Award-winning Chicago rapper was charged in a superseding federal grand jury indictment alleging he conspired with others to murder rival rapper Quando Rondo. During the alleged hit, shooters missed Rondo and, instead, fatally shot his cousin, Lul Pab. Last month, the feds connected Durk to the 2022 killing of 24-year-old Stephon Mack in Chicago…a suspected leader of a Chicago gang. Durk maintains his innocence. [social_warfare]
