Welcome to Soccernet.ng’s live coverage of Nigeria’s U20 Africa Cup of Nations third-place game against the hosts, Egypt, as both sides battle it out for a bronze medal.

The 30 June Stadium in Cairo, Egypt, is the venue as the Flying Eagles of Nigeria look to bow out of the AFCON U-20 tournament as the third-highest ranked team in Africa.

Aliyu Zubairu’s team have conceded three goals this tournament. The team’s youngest player, Ebenezer Harcourt, who’s also the goalkeeper, was Nigeria’s hero in the quarter-final against Senegal as he saved two penalty kicks in the shootout.

Harcourt was subbed off in the semi-final against South Africa and his replacement cost Nigeria with a silly error that saw the Amajita head for the final.

This evening, they take on Egypt who have conceded the most goals amongst the four semi-finalists– seven in six matches. They’ve kept three clean sheets but allowed three goals across their two knockout games.
