Liverpool forced defending champions, Manchester City to a 1-1 draw at Anfield on Sunday, as Arsenal remain on top of the premier league.

City opened the scoring midway into the first half. Kevin De Bruyne delivered a teasing cross from the resulting corner and the ball fell into the space where John Stones was lurking. His precise shot from close range went straight inside the right post.

In the 32nd minute, Dominik Szoboszlai climbed all over the defender near the penalty spot to win the ball from a cross by Harvey Elliott, but planted his header narrowly wide of the right post.

Luis Diaz, in the 42nd minute tricked his way to the edge of the box where he shot at goal. The keeper scrambled to cover the effort, but it went just wide of the left post.
