Lizzo Confirms She May Have Snatched Her Man on Set — “It’s Giving BookTok Fantasy”

Uh oh! It looks like Lizzo may have manifested her dream man — even if it meant accidentally stealing someone else’s.

A woman recently went viral on social media after claiming that Lizzo “stole” her boyfriend while they were all working on a project together. The show in question? MTV’s Wonderland, where Lizzo was the “music girl” and her now-partner was the “comedy guy.”

Here’s the woman’s story:

Well, in a new interview, Lizzo kind of, sort of… confirmed it.

“We both worked on this one TV show, Wonderland, for MTV,” she said candidly. “I was the music girl, he was the comedy guy.”

That’s when things got interesting. Lizzo continued, “I was just like, ‘He’s my best friend.’ I didn’t have any guy friends like that… But I was like, ‘Wow, I can really talk to him.’”

Sounds innocent enough, right? But she wasn’t done.

“We had this crazy bond for years,” she added. “I do love that we were friends first, so that means we can talk about anything.”

Her interviewer, Shane, chimed in: “He’s your best friend.”

To which Lizzo smiled and replied, “Literally.”

But then came the part that really got the internet buzzing.

“That is low-key like a fantasy, right?” she said. “It’s like a BookTok dream to be like, ‘Oh my God, like he was my best friend.’”

Cue every messy side-eye emoji.

While Lizzo didn’t name names or address the other woman’s claim directly, fans quickly did the math. The timeline matches up with her romance with Myke Wright, the comedian she first confirmed she was dating in April 2022 after being “outed” by Andy Cohen during a radio interview.

Two months later, the two made their official debut at a red carpet event for Lizzo’s Amazon Prime reality show, Watch Out for the Big Grrrls. And ever since then, they’ve looked totally in sync — cozy photos, goofy TikToks, and Lizzo even calling him “the love of my life” in interviews.

Still, social media’s divided. Some are giving Lizzo the benefit of the doubt — because hey, it’s not like she explicitlyadmitted to being the “other woman.” Others, though, are dragging her for romanticizing what may have been someone else’s relationship.

“It’s giving main character energy… with a little mess on the side,” one user commented.

Another wrote, “Not Lizzo saying she’s living a BookTok fantasy when the other girl is in her Sad Girl playlist era.”

At the end of the day, Lizzo’s in love — and not afraid to admit it came with a little real-life drama. Whether you’re Team Soulmate or Team Sisterhood Solidarity, one thing’s for sure: love stories don’t always come wrapped in neat little bows. Sometimes, they come with an MTV production credit and a side of tea.

And we’ll definitely be sipping.
