ATALANTA manager Ivan Juric has criticised Ademola Lookman despite welcoming the Super Eagles forward back to the squad over the weekend.
Lookman was keen to join Inter Milan during the last transfer window, but Atalanta blocked the move to their Serie A rivals, insisting the 27-year-old could only switch to a foreign club for the right offer.
The Nigeria international boycotted training for a while, but made his first appearance as a late substitute in yesterday’s 3-0 victory at Torino.
“He spoke to me and the team on Monday, he was surrounded by people who had given him some bad advice,” Juric said after the match, referring to Lookman.
“He has a great winning mentality and now we need to get him back in shape physically.
“There are a lot of injuries, but we also have a large squad and must keep going like this.
“The fatigue was somewhat inevitable after a midweek 4-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
“That game actually gave us strength, because we were up against the best team in Europe. We rather took our foot off the gas and controlled the match today.”
