The National Caretaker Committee of the Labour Party (LP) has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the former National Chairman of the party, Barr. Julius Abure to show cause why disciplinary action should not be taken against him.

The chairman of the committee, Senator Nenadi Usman handed down the ultimatum on Wednesday during a press conference where she described Abure as an “impostor”.

A senior member of the party with adequate information of the development told THE WHISTLER that Abure faces likely “expulsion from the party in line with relevant provisions guiding membership and operations of the party.”

Senator Usman meanwhile advised Abure to address the various allegations of corruption and forgery against him before he was axed as the chairman of the party.
