Makinde’s Camp Knocks Wike Over PDP Crisis

Mr. Dare Adeleke, Special Adviser to Governor Makinde on Federal Constituency Matters, alleged that Wike is spearheading a plot to “destroy and eliminate all opposition parties” in order to establish the All Progressives Congress (APC) as Nigeria’s only political party.

The accusation followed Wike’s Sunday declaration in which he threatened to abandon all ongoing reconciliation efforts within the PDP and vowed to “fight for justice.”

However, Adeleke has described Wike’s posture as “undemocratic and arrogant.”

He insinuated that the minister’s actions are intended to pave the way for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

“I strongly condemn Governor Nyesom Wike’s undemocratic and arrogant remarks,” Adeleke stated.

“As former governor of Rivers State and now Minister of the FCT, he appears to have turned governance into a personal enterprise. I believe President Bola Tinubu should call him to order.”

“How can someone, over personal grievances, seek to destroy political parties? If Wike wanted APC to be the only party in Nigeria, he would have achieved that by now,” he added.

Adeleke also accused Wike of hypocrisy, alleging that the FCT Minister is projecting blame on Governor Makinde for frustrating reconciliation, while secretly working against party unity.

He further referenced reported efforts by Wike to obstruct the PDP’s internal meetings, particularly by attempting to shut down the party’s national secretariat and stall the crucial National Executive Committee (NEC) session.

“He behaves as if governance in this country revolves solely around him. We thank Governor Seyi Makinde, who has remained resolute and committed to the truth. Wike’s statements are riddled with contradictions,” Adeleke said.
