A 22-year old man, Eze Sunday, has been arraigned before the Odigbo Chief Magistrate’s Court over alleged theft of pepper worth N100,000.
Sunday was charged with two counts of conspiracy and stealing.
He allegedly committed the offence on September 21, 2025 at about 1:30 p.m. at Otu Camp, Ore, Ondo State.
Inspector Usifoh James, prosecuting, told the court that the defendant, alongside an accomplice at large, allegedly plotted to steal the pepper belonging to one Adebayo Ajodun.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecution noted that the alleged offences contravene Sections 51 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006 and requested an adjournment to study the case file and prepare witnesses for trial.
The defence counsel, Mr. I.D. Eliphus, supported the adjournment and applied for bail on liberal terms.

Chief Magistrate Festus Akinlolu, subsequently granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties of the same amount.
The case has been adjourned to October 13, 2025 for further proceedings.
