Kevin De Bruyne has been inducted into the prestigious ‘Walk of Fame’ at Belgium’s Proximus Basecamp in Tubize, cementing his legacy as one of the nation’s greatest footballers, Soccernet.football reports.

The Manchester City midfielder, who remains an integral part of the Belgian national team, received the honour ahead of Belgium’s upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Israel and France.

At 33, De Bruyne continues to shine on both club and international stages.

Now in his 10th season with Manchester City, the playmaker has already featured in all of the club’s Premier League matches this season, helping Pep Guardiola’s side secure wins over Chelsea, Ipswich Town, and West Ham.

He even found the back of the net during the 4-1 victory against Ipswich and contributed an assist in other matches.

De Bruyne’s contributions to the Belgium national team are equally impressive.

Having surpassed 100 caps ahead of the recent European Championship, his induction into the ‘Walk of Fame’ was a fitting recognition of his achievements.

He now joins the ranks of Belgium’s footballing elite, such as Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois, and Romelu Lukaku.

As part of the ceremony, De Bruyne’s feet were cast in bronze and displayed alongside other footballing legends.

Reflecting on his time at Manchester City, De Bruyne made an insightful admission about the team’s success.

He revealed that the harmonious dressing room dynamic has been key: “In the 10 years I’ve been here, I’ve seen many great players, but I’ve not seen many egos.”

De Bruyne continued: “Everybody knows that everybody’s important… you need to know how to handle yourself in the right way towards your teammates.” This collective mindset, he believes, has been a cornerstone of City’s remarkable achievements.

With his contract set to expire next summer, De Bruyne’s future at City remains uncertain. However, the Belgian star hinted that discussions with the club will take place soon, potentially extending his stay at the Etihad.
