Iran launched a barrage of over 100 missiles into Israel early Sunday, just hours after U.S. airstrikes targeted several of Iran’s key nuclear facilities.
Explosions were reported in major Israeli cities including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, prompting widespread panic as air raid sirens echoed throughout the country.
The Israeli military confirmed the missile launches, stating that its air defence systems were immediately activated to intercept incoming threats.
According to Israeli emergency services, at least 20 people have been injured.
Police reported that debris from intercepted missiles landed in areas near the northern port city of Haifa, where emergency responders were quickly deployed.
The missile strikes also impacted Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Beersheba—cities that have seen repeated attacks since the onset of the conflict.
Israel, which enforces strict censorship on military operations, has confirmed at least 50 missile impacts since June 13.
The ongoing violence has so far resulted in 25 fatalities.
This latest escalation follows a bold military move by the United States.
President Donald Trump authorized coordinated airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear sites in Isfahan, Fordow, and Natanz, later declaring that the facilities had been “completely and fully obliterated.”
Iran has strongly condemned the U.S. strikes, warning of “everlasting consequences.” Despite the severity of the attacks, both Iran’s National Nuclear Safety System Centre and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have reported no increase in radiation levels.
The situation remains tense as world leaders call for restraint to prevent a broader regional conflict.
