A fresh attack by bandits on Dogon Madaci, Tungar Lawal, and Rafin Samu communities in Bakura Local Government Area of Zamfara State have left several people killed.
The attack, which was coordinated by the yet-to-be-identified bandits took place on Monday, July 21, 2025.
According to residents, the bandits also abducted several people during the attack which lasted for hours.
It was gathered that the attackers stormed the communities on their motorcycles and started shooting sporadically into the air.
Scaring residents who fled for safety into nearby bushes, the bandits went ahead to destroy houses and cart away valuables from different homes within the community.
Confirming the incident, a security expert, Bakatsine wrote in an X post on Tuesday:
“Yesterday afternoon, bandits attacked Dogon Madaci, Tungar Lawal, and Rafin Samu communities in Bakura LGA, Zamfara State. Many people were killed, several injured, and others abducted. Properties looted & livestock rustled.”
