Superman and Spider-Man are breaking the multiverse in their upcoming historic DC x Marvel crossover. A recent news release revealed nearly a dozen variant covers, many showcasing different multiversal versions of the Man of Steel and the Web-Slinger joining forces.
On December 9, 2025, DC confirmed via press release that the long-teased Superman/Spider-Man crossover will hit comic book shelves in March 2026.
Even more exciting is the release of 11 variant covers for Superman/Spider-Man #1, featuring different versions of the heroes, including some of their most iconic looks and multiversal variants. One cover also spotlights DC’s Power Girl with Marvel’s Black Cat, while another highlights Supergirl alongside Silk.

The sight of Superman and Spider-Man’s most iconic multiversal counterparts and era-specific versions teaming up is as epic as it is unexpected. One notable cover features Superman wearing his black-and-silver recovery suit, a defining look from one of his darkest eras following his death at the hands of Doomsday.
This cover similarly showcases Spider-Man in one of his most iconic, era-defining looks: the black symbiote suit. First debuting in 1984 during the original Secret Wars, this costume quickly became legendary, marking one of the most significant superhero costume changes in comic history and leaving a lasting impact on Spider-Man’s mythos.
Other notable mashups include Superman variants such as Superboy Prime, Kingdom Come Superman, and Red Son Kal-El, who landed in Soviet Russia instead of Kansas. Classic versions of the Man of Steel also appear. On Spider-Man’s end, one cover features Spider-Hulk, a.k.a. a variant of Peter Parker who becomes a Hulkified Spider-Man in one of his storylines.

For those who haven’t been following, DC and Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man and Superman crossovers will include both reprints and brand-new titles from each company. To clarify, however, the variant covers highlighted here are exclusive to DC’s Superman / Spider-Man #1.
Meanwhile, Marvel will also release its own brand-new story featuring the Man of Steel and the webslinger in Spider-Man / Superman #1, arriving in April. Fans can likely expect even more exciting variant covers from Marvel ahead of this historic Superman x Spider-Man reunion, adding to the buzz surrounding the crossover.
