With Season 5 of Marvel Rivals set to begin soon, the new characters, maps, skins, and other content hasn’t been revealed yet, despite much speculation. However, a recent teaser image provided by the developers hints at which heroes will be added, along with the overall theme of the Season itself. These clues line up with past leaks, painting a picture of what Season 5 will look like.
From an official X post made by Marvel Rivals‘ team, the game seems to be taking a turn towards romance, offering players an invitation to wedding. This comes in the form of a playing card, which states that story news about Season 5 is set to be announced on November 11, 2025. This news will either confirm or deny many Season 5 predictions, but some details already reveal what players have long suspected.
Marvel Rivals Announces Rogue & Gambit As Season 5 Characters
The Wedding Between Both X-Men Characters Seems To Be A Seasonal Story
The wedding invitation posted is for the union of Anna Marie, aka Rogue, and Remy Lebeau, the card-wielding Gambit. This pretty much confirms that Gambit and Rogue will be the new characters of Season 5, following the two heroes per Season structure that the game has followed since launch. These two characters were heavily hinted through Gallery Cards players could earn and read in Season 4, especially when Dardevil was released.
The card goes further to state that the wedding venue between Rogue and Gambit will be Krakoa, the island nation that was introduced in Season 2. With another comment saying “reception to follow,” there is an implication to a new map that will also come in Season 5, likely later down the line.
Unlike past Seasons, the new Marvel Zombies mode for Marvel Rivals is not planned to go away at the start of Season 5. Due to its popularity, it will now be available for players to enjoy until December 2025.
Season 5’s theme seems to be centered on the love between Rogue and Gambit, a long-standing and popular relationship established in Marvel Comics. As of right now, it is rumored that Rogue will fulfill the Strategist role, while Gambit is another of the game’s many Duelists. However, this could change as more details are revealed, especially as the rumored “Love is a Battlefield” Season gains an official start date.
Season 5’s New Map Might Be The Collector’s Theme Park
Character Costumes And Dialogue Hint At The Wedding Reception Venue
While not strictly revealed through the teaser wedding invite, Marvel Rivals has planted seeds for what Season 5’s new map might be. A special background for the Man-Spider skin of Spider-Man has unique imagery, unlike any other new costume in the game. Keen-eyed fans have seen how the collection of buildings in Man-Spider’s background might refer to a specific character from the comics.
The new Season 5 map could be the Collector’s Theme Park, a private sanctum of The Collector, an enigmatic villain who gathers oddities from across the Marvel universe. Many of The Collector’s treasures are victims, kidnapped from their homes and kept in the bombastic villain’s menagerie. The Collector could easily serve as the non-playable antagonist of Season 5, much like Knull did in Season 3.
Some dialogue between characters have mentioned The Collector existing in Marvel Rivals. Some lines spoken between Rocket Raccoon and Mantis even reveal character plans to free The Collectors prisoners at some point.
A beautiful and chaotic park might be just the place for Rogue and Gambit to invite heroes for a thrilling rescue mission. Given the wild nature of both characters at times, it wouldn’t be surprising to see either choose to spend their celebration doing heroic acts with one another.
Most details will be revealed this week, not only confirming Rouge and Gambit’s roles, but also showcasing a potential roadmap for the Season. Regardless, the romantic themes of Season 5’s characters and map in Marvel Rivals will definitely influence incredible new costumes for your favorite characters, including a Battle Pass with fresh rewards.
