Marvel officially reveals the next Sorcerer Supreme, taking up the mantle after Doctor Doom is defeated. Having stopped the Blood Hunt with help from Doctor Strange’s Sorcerer Supreme powers, Doctor Doom stole the title and conquered the world. However, Doom’s time as Sorcerer Supreme was limited, as a new hero would eventually take his power away.
As Doom’s reign ends, Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. Scarlet Witch is officially set to become Marvel’s next Sorcerer Supreme, Marvel confirms. Wanda will star in her own series, Sorcerer Supreme, starting December 2025. Cover variants suggest Wiccan, Agatha Harkness, Stephen Strange, and Chthon will be involved.
Sorcerer Supreme is penned by Scarlet Witch writer Steve Orlando, with art by Children of the Atom artist Bernard Chang. Variant covers by Inhyuk Lee, Leirix, Russell Dauterman, Jenny Frison, Rose Besch, Devmalya Pramanik, Geoff Shaw, and Mark Brooks will accompany each issue.

Her recent victories over the Griever at the End of All Things, Gargantos, and some of Hadad’s Black Winters prove that she operates on a cosmic scale few can match. After years of struggle, magic now bends at her will.
Wanda’s creation of an entirely new reality in Vision and the Scarlet Witch Vol. 3 #5, where she spends a full lifetime with Vision before returning to the present intact, demonstrates her mastery over the kind of magic needed for the job. The terrifying question is whether any mortal being, even one as evolved as Wanda, can truly contain that kind of power.
The same power that might make Wanda the best Sorcerer Supreme in history could also make her the most dangerous. While she’s overcome the instability of her House of M era, her potential for chaos still lingers deep within her. A single emotional fracture or external manipulation could unleash devastation on a multiversal scale. If Wanda were ever to lose control again, even for a moment, it could be game over.
