Mastercard, Nomba collaborate to advance seamless payments

Mastercard has partnered with Nomba, a payment solutions provider, to integrate Mastercard Gateway into Nomba’s Checkout solution, aiming to enhance digital payments for businesses in Nigeria, the companies said in a statement on Thursday.

The integration will allow businesses to process transactions securely and efficiently using international cards, QR codes, and other digital payment methods.

The companies said the partnership is expected to expand financial inclusion by increasing access to digital payments across Nigeria and Africa.

Mastercard’s Country Manager and Area Business Head for West Africa, Folasade Femi-Lawal, said the collaboration aligns with the company’s broader goal of expanding the digital economy.

She said, “As Mastercard continues driving innovation and financial inclusion, we are thrilled to join forces with Nomba in its mission to deliver efficient payment solutions to businesses in Nigeria. Our broader mission includes bringing one billion people into the digital economy by 2025, and this partnership is a step toward achieving that goal.”

Nomba’s Head of Product, Jafer Ali Shariff, said the integration will enhance transaction speed, security, and scalability for businesses, saying, “What excites us at Nomba is seeing our customers grow. This collaboration with Mastercard unlocks new opportunities and enables us to offer the speed, efficiency, and reliability that businesses need to scale.”

The partnership is expected to improve transaction reliability through Mastercard’s secure global infrastructure, strengthen fraud prevention and data protection, and provide businesses with access to Mastercard’s vast network of users.

Faster transaction processing will also help businesses manage cash flow more efficiently and improve customer satisfaction, the companies said.

Mastercard and Nomba said they plan to expand their collaboration across Africa as demand for digital payment solutions continues to grow.
