The Commissioner of Police, Niger Command, Adamu Elleman has felicitated with Muslim faithful in the state on the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Maulud, the commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
This is contained in a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, on Friday in Minna.
According to him, the celebration is a reminder of the Prophet’s exemplary life of love, humility, sacrifice and dedication to service of humanity.
The commissioner urged Muslim faithful, the people and residents of Niger to imbibe His teachings, which connoted values of peace, sacrifice, tolerance, respect for one another and peaceful coexistence.
He prayed that the occasion further strengthened our collective commitment to peace building, unity and dedication to growth and development of our dear nation.
Elleman reassured the people and residents of the command’s focus and commitment to the protection of lives and property, as well as maintenance of law and order before, during and after the celebration.
The CP has directed Area commanders and DPOs to deploy personnel and provide adequate security for a peaceful celebration.
He, however, enjoined the people and residents to celebrate responsibly, be law-abiding, vigilant, and report any suspicious act of crime and criminality to the police for immediate intervention.
