WATCH THE VIDEO HERE The entertainment industry has long been marred by stories of exploitation and abuse, with countless women stepping forward to share their harrowing experiences of being manipulated or coerced for the promise of stardom. Despite the passage of time, these troubling dynamics persist, often leaving victims without the fame or success they were promised. In a recent interview with Charlene Egbe, widely known as MC Charlene or the Energy Goddess, she shared her insights on navigating this challenging landscape and emphasized the importance of self-respect. “As a woman thriving in a male-dominated industry with a talent often associated with men, I’ve learned that it’s all about how you carry yourself. “Women will always be attracted to men; it’s a natural part of life. Unfortunately, many men, due to their immaturity, exploit their positions of power. “However, I believe many of them would think twice if they encountered a woman who carried herself with dignity and self-respect” Charlene stated. MC Charlene also highlighted that a woman’s vulnerability can often be sensed through her desperation or the way she pleads for roles, which predators in the industry might exploit. “It’s sad, and while men should certainly do better, I believe a woman who masters self-respect can avoid much of this nonsense.” She also addressed the issue of women who knowingly engage in seductive behaviour to gain roles. “It’s foolish to sleep with someone to become a celebrity. What happens after you achieve fame? Are you going to pretend nothing happened between you and these men, knowing they talk? Or will you continue the relationship, even though they might be sleeping with other upcoming female entertainers? It’s all shades of stupidity, and no woman should engage in such behaviour.”
