Meek Mill and Sean “Diddy” Combs were once so close that they even wore matching outfits, but after being named in a lawsuit against the disgraced music mogul, accusing him of being one of Diddy’s lovers, Meek has tried hard to distance himself from the scandal.
Speaking to Complex, Meek Mill shared that he has not attended any of Diddy’s “Freak Off” parties. According to the Philly rapper, he would never step into anywhere that didn’t align with his moral code.
“I’m being literally up front about it, talking about it in the open while [Diddy’s] on federal trial to make it known that I am not affiliated with Puff Daddy’s sexual life or personal life and never have been,” he told the outlet.
Meek also shared his thoughts on Diddy’s trial verdict.
“Puff is fighting a life sentence. I’m the first Black man to speak on this. I don’t think he’s right about nothing I’ve seen, nothing that he’s involved with with domestic violence or anything,” he continued, “But I’m a Black man. If I see another Black man fall, I am not here to laugh, and I don’t want to see you fall any harder. You handle your responsibilities for your choices you make. Just because you made mistakes, I don’t want to see any Black man die in front of my face.”
Diddy remains in jail awaiting his sentencing. he is facing up to 20 years in prison.
