Meek Mill is calling out a double standard after Jake Paul shared a flashy photo online that featured guns and stacks of cash aboard a private jet.
Reacting on X, formerly Twitter, Meek reposted part of a conversation sparked by Paul’s image and admitted the moment made him laugh while also hitting a nerve.
“I have a gun license in like 40+ states you think I’m not working on all,” Meek wrote in the since-deleted tweet, adding, “it’s funny when I seen Jake Paul on a jet with guns and cash… we laughed and I said, if I took a pic like that I’ll be under investigation lol.”
Meek has long spoken openly about his complicated history with law enforcement, including past arrests and probation battles that shaped much of his early career. Just last month, he claimed the New York Police Department briefly detained him despite legally carrying firearms with licensed companions.
“Just thinking about how the cops blitz me for a firearm,” he wrote. “I got firearm license in like 40+ states.”
Meek alleged officers pulled him from his car, cuffed him outside a club, and pointed guns at his face. “I thought it was a prank,” he said, admitting he felt “embarrassed.”
The rapper spent years fighting probation violations tied to a 2008 conviction, repeatedly arguing that he was being unfairly targeted by Philadelphia Judge Genece Brinkley. In 2017, he was sentenced to two to four years in prison for technical violations. Meek later accused Brinkley of corruption, alleging she pressured him to leave his longtime music manager and sign with a Philadelphia-based promoter connected to her.
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ultimately overturned his conviction in 2019, citing prosecutorial misconduct, and Brinkley was later barred from handling criminal cases.
