Mercy Aigbe, Liquorose, Uche Jombo, others dazzle at AMVCA Cultural Day (Photos)

It was a night of glitz and glamour at the 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) Cultural Day.

Kemi Filani reported on Thursday that the 11th edition of AMVCA kicked off with an Icons Night to celebrate actors, actresses, and film practitioners.

On Friday, a cultural night was held to celebrate the rich culture of Nigerians and Africans. As always, guests hot the red carpet in glamorous traditional outfits that beautifully showcased the rich culture of our country. While some were dressed in Igbo attire, others wore Muslim and Edo attire.

The guest list at this year’s event includes Uche Jombo, Mercy Aigbe, Efe Irele, Stan Nze, Blessing Obasi, Lateef Adedimeji, Mo Bimpe, Liquorose, Toke Makinwa, BBNaija Chichi, Chizzy Alichi, Saga Adeolu, Bambam, Uriel, OAP Dotun, and more.

Nigerian celebrity stylist and designer Toyin Lawani of Tiannah Empire had called out the AMVCA over their lack of theme each year. She noted how AMVCA has never declared a theme for their event, as she questioned why people wouldn’t dress how they like when they don’t give a theme.

Also last year, Veteran icon Idowu Philips, popularly known as Mama Rainbow, had bagged a title at the AMVCA Night of Icons. Mama Rainbow, who shared clips from the event on Instagram, expressed gratitude for her fame since 1942 till date.
