Bishop Mike Bamidele of Victory Life Ministry International has urged Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to declare Pentecost Day a public holiday in the state.

The call was made on Monday, June 9, during the 2025 Pentecost Day celebration held at Government Technical College, Osogbo.

Addressing journalists at the event, Bishop Bamidele described Osun as a pace-setting state, saying declaring Pentecost Day a holiday would promote love and spiritual consciousness among the people.

He encouraged Nigerians to place their trust in God, noting that relying solely on human institutions, governments, or individuals often leads to disappointment.

He said moments like Pentecost Day serve as a reminder to keep hope alive and maintain faith in God despite the challenges.

The Bishop lamented the current economic hardship in the country, stating that many citizens are losing hope due to rising needs and increasing stress.

He emphasized the need for government policies to focus more on easing the burdens of the masses rather than benefiting only agencies and organizations.

Bamidele also charged Nigerians to cultivate the habit of praying for those in leadership to help them meet public expectations effectively.

The Pentecost Day event was attended by religious leaders, gospel artists, choir groups, church members, and members of the public.

The celebration featured prayer sessions, musical ministrations, and other spiritual activities.
