Mikel Arteta Insists Arsenal Are Still EPL Title Contenders

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed confidence that the Gunners remain in the Premier League title race this season.

In the match, Arsenal secured their win thanks to an own goal from Dominic Solanke and a decisive strike from Leandro Trossard. This victory places Arsenal just four points behind league leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand.

During a post-match interview, when asked about the team’s title ambitions, Arteta stated, “We are because there’s so much to play for, and we can see how difficult it is for every team to win.”

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta has revealed the club’s intention to strengthen their squad by seeking a new striker in the January transfer window. This announcement came during a conversation with Rio Ferdinand after the Tottenham match.

Despite the current setback of missing key players like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus due to injuries, Arteta is committed to closing the gap on Liverpool. He reassured fans that the club is actively working on potential signings.

Arteta indicated, “We are going to try, for sure. We are actively looking. I think we have lost two very important players. We have 14 players in the squad, and we play every three days. We will try, but let’s see who we can get.”
