Millie Bobby Brown sets her sights on a new Netflix rom-com called Just Picture It, which will reunite her with a Godzilla vs. Kong costar. Directed by Lee Toland Krieger and written by Jesse Lasky, the upcoming film follows two college students whose phones glitch, showing them pictures from a decade in the future when they are married with children.
The cast of Just Picture It is now taking shape, with Deadline reporting that Brown, who also produces the film through PCMA Productions, will be joined by her fellow MonsterVerse alum Julian Dennison. Dennison played Josh Valentine in Godzilla vs. Kong.
The report also reveals that Amrit Kaur (The Sex Lives of College Girls), Margo Martindale (Your Honor), Ben Jackson Walker (Honor Society), Brec Bassinger (Final Destination: Bloodlines), and Idina Menzel (Frozen), have also joined the cast. Gabriel LaBelle and Anthony Keyvan were previously announced.
What This Means For Just Picture It
With Just Picture It, Brown continues to serve as one of Netflix’s greatest collaborators. After becoming a household name with Stranger Things, Brown continued her partnership with the streamer with projects like the Enola Holmes franchise, Damsel (2024), and this year’s poorly received The Electric State.
As Brown prepares to bid farewell to her character of Eleven later this year when Stranger Things season 5 releases on Netflix, she shows no signs of slowing down. It’s currently unclear when Just Picture It will go to camera and when it may release, but it’s one of several notable projects that Brown has on the horizon.
It was just recently reported, for example, that Brown is set to play Kerri Strug, an Olympic champion gymnast, in a biopic called Perfect. Set to be directed by Gia Coppola, Netflix is said to be interested in acquiring the project, which would only further solidify its partnership with Brown.
As for the rest of the Just Picture It cast, Idina Menzel is well known for voicing Elsa in Frozen and for her extensive work on Broadway. Bassinger, on the other hand, recently found success with the well-received Final Destination: Bloodlines, while Martindale is a TV veteran, having appeared in Dexter and Justified, among many other shows.
For Dennison, Just Picture It comes after a prominent role in the live-action How to Train Your Dragon (2025). He has also appeared in Y2K (2024) and Deadpool 2 (2018).
Our Take On Just Picture It
Though reviews for Brown’s non-Stranger Things projects have varied, often skewing negative, she is demonstrating a fair amount of diversity in terms of the roles she takes on. Just Picture It will mark her most traditional rom-com-style movie yet, while Perfect could indicate awards ambition.
Films like The Electric State and Godzilla vs. Kong suggest Brown is right at home in major blockbusters, and the upcoming Enola Holmes 3 proves she has some strong franchises to fall back on should her new films not catch on. Stranger Things probably remains the project Brown is best known for, but Just Picture It marks another step forward in her career.
