The Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives has summoned an emergency meeting to address recent tensions within its leadership ranks, following a lawsuit reportedly filed by the Minority Leader, Rt. Hon. Kingsley Chinda, against all members of minority parties in the 10th House.

According to the official notice, the meeting is scheduled to hold on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 8 PM, at The Envoy Hotel, located at Plot 294, Diplomatic Drive, Central Business District, Abuja.

The agenda for the meeting includes a review of the lawsuit filed by Hon. Chinda and discussions on possible collective responses by members of the minority caucus. Other matters may also be addressed under “Any Other Business (AOB).”

The notice was jointly signed by key caucus leaders:

Rt. Hon. Agbedi Frederick, PhD, Leader, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Caucus

Hon. Afam Victor Ogene, Leader, Labour Party Caucus

Hon. Muktar Umar-Zakari, representing the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Caucus

Hon. Peter Uzokwe, Leader, Young Peoples Party (YPP)

The emergency meeting comes amid growing concerns about unity within the opposition bloc of the House, with insiders suggesting that the lawsuit by Hon. Chinda may have deepened divisions among minority lawmakers.

More details are expected to emerge after the meeting on Monday night.
