Comedian Mo’Nique hopped on a livestream where she was asked by viewers about Shannon Sharpe recently settling his $50 million rape case, filed against him by his former, much younger girlfriend.
“We’ve all not walked the perfect line, we’ve all had mistakes, we’ve all taken a fall, we’ve all had to get up and get to going again,” Mo’Nique said. “So, that is my brother, and I love my brother.”
After Sharpe was first hit with the lawsuit, footage resurfaced online of her warning Sharpe to stay away from young women and to date women his own age. Sharpe responded, telling her he wanted to date women his “wage” instead.

Mo’Nique compared Sharpe’s struggles to her fight with director Tyler Perry.
“I know what it feels like for people to quit on you and give up on you. That won’t be me. Shannon Sharpe? That’s Shay Shay, baby. We love him,” she said.
She revealed she even clapped back at an audience member who wanted her to turn on Sharpe.
“I said, ‘B—h, no, you won’t do that. No, you will not do that. No ma’am’. Whatever you feeling about my brother, if you ain’t got something nice to say, be quiet.”
