Movie producer and social commentator Stanley Ontop has been arrested and detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Delta State.
According to reports, he was detained on Tuesday, December 9.
The reason for his arrest is not known but report by LIB said it followed a petition filed by Nollywood actress, Queeneth Hilbeth, although the contents of the petition have not been made public.
Naijaonpoint reports that the arrest comes after a long-standing public feud between Ontop and Hilbeth.
The dispute reportedly started over allegations involving another actress, Destiny Etiko. Queeneth Hilbeth accused Etiko of “snatching” a man who had been in a relationship with her for five years.
Ontop claimed the man was married and that after helping Etiko financially during a personal difficulty, Hilbeth accused Etiko of wrongdoing.
As the clash grew, Ontop made serious allegations against Hilbeth, including claims about drug use and other inappropriate behaviour, which he shared publicly.
In response, Hilbeth released a medical report posted on her Instagram story to deny the drug allegations, but Ontop questioned its authenticity.
Hilbeth also faced a ₦100 million defamation lawsuit from her colleague Destiny Etiko and had reported attempts by police to arrest her at Etiko’s request as unlawful.
