The Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday convicted Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), on all seven terrorism-related charges brought against him by the Federal Government.
Justice James Omotosho, while delivering judgment, found Kanu guilty of engaging in acts of terrorism, leading a proscribed organisation, issuing threats, inciting the killing of security personnel, committing international terrorism, and importing an unregistered radio transmitter.
The court held that Kanu knowingly committed acts of terrorism through broadcasts that threatened widespread death and disruption, and that he acted without consideration for the safety of citizens.

Justice Omotosho concluded that the evidence against Kanu was incontrovertible and that he had acted knowingly and deliberately in committing all the offences.
The court noted that Kanu failed to provide a credible defense and “deliberately refused” to counter the evidence presented by the government.
