Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo is celebrating her colleague turned friend Funke Akindele as she turns 48.
Taking to her Instagram page to share photos of Funke, she described the celebrant her friend turned sister. Iyabo wished Funke more years of blessings and happiness, loads of wins, and love and told her to enjoy her day.
“Happy birthday to my amazing friend turned sister. I wish you many more blessings, happiness, and loads of wins and love.
Enjoy your day”.
In her comment section, Funke appreciated her for the message.
“Thank you so much, sis. I appreciate you always”.
Recall that Funke Akindele and Iyabo fell out and were at loggerheads for years, after Iyabo dragged Funke when a blogger criticised Toyin Abraham’s movie, The Ghost and The Tout.
In 2022, the two put their beef aside by embracing and exchanging pecks at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award season 8.
Since their reconciliation, the two have struck a close relationship and have been supportive of each other’s milestone.
In June, Funke gifted Iyabo Ojo a brand new iPhone 16. Iyabo made the news known on her Instagram page, revealing that the actress kept to her promise of changing her Samsung phone.
In May, Funke had accompanied Iyabo to Tanzania for the wedding finale of her daughter, Priscilla.
When Iyabo premiered her movie, Labake Olododo, Funke had given it her stamp of approval. Also, at the movie premiere, she had commended Iyabo. She praised the actress for the movie’s aesthetics, visuals and all and congratulated her on her new feat. Funke told Iyabo it was her turn to shine and admonished her to break boundaries.
Funke, in an interview, recounted how Iyabo Ojo and Sikiratu Sindodo helped her up the ladder and fought for her during her early career days. According to her, she was being stereotyped because of her physical appearance which many considered ‘ugly’. This led to her breaking down on one of her movie sets and Iyabo and Sikiratu stood up for her.
